Food Review: Yoga Café

A very Happy New Year to the readers of ButterandButts 🙂

Almost everyone’s New Year resolution includes ‘eating healthy’, am I right or am I right? I am going to make things easier for you. I have recently started exploring healthy food restaurants in Delhi and had reviewed Lean Chef in December. Did you visit the place yet?

Just when I was looking for healthy food joints, Yoga Café surprised me with some delicious food. They have a different menu for everyday of the week and asked me to pick whatever I like.

Food Review: Lean Chef

foodreview_deepika

I get a headache every time I hear “I’d rather enjoy my food and die early than eat healthy and live long?” There has always been a misconception that healthy food is not tasty. Putting it better- It’s just ghas phus. Just to debunk this myth, I decided to explore places that make finger licking healthy food.

Last week, post office, I decided to visit Lean Chef. I got titillated by fresh-from-the-oven aroma of the food items as soon as I entered the place.

Curb the Curse

Hypothyroidism is one of the main causes of weight gain, especially in women. And it comes with innumerable other problems like diabetes, sleeplessness, painful periods, constant fatigue, low bone density, low levels of Vitamin D ( the major reason behind weight gain), PCOD,  high blood pressure, etc.

Eat right. Eat all you want.

You may call me stereotypical but being a Punjabi is enough to suffice the fact that I’m a big time foodie. That and a health freak. I’ve always been healthy because my dad is a health freak. He’s always made sure that I’m involved in some sort of physical activity or the other. I remember how I used to hate waking up at 5 in the morning during my school days because my dad wanted me to go for running or practice yoga.

But then things changed. I came to Delhi for my graduation. The very fact that I came to “Delhi” led to a change in my lifestyle- no portion control, no exercise, unhealthy food, no regulations in terms of timings. Here, I would like to make this clear that I have no grudges against Delhi. In fact I love this place so much that I don’t feel like going home anymore. That’s the kind of effect it has on me. Coming back to the topic, I started gaining weight like anything. And then I had to get my tests done because it wasn’t just the increasing weight that was bothering me but I started suffering from a lot of other problems. Waking up to a bloated stomach and a swelled face became a routine. And then I was diagnosed for thyroid which I’ll be discussing in detail in my next post. Due to weight gain, I went into depression. I couldn’t wear what I wanted to. Zipping my jeans became a challenge (I’m not kidding).
